With more than a billion daily users, Alipay is the world's largest digital payments platform. With Alipay in the palm of your hand, ordering a takeaway, hailing a taxi, buying and selling online, sending money across borders and even booking a hospital appointment are all there at the press of a button.
With the aim of reaching more consumers and merchants globally, Alipay knew it had to move beyond domestic markets. Working closely with leadership teams we developed the brand strategy framework and design systems for Alipay+, the international version of Alipay.
The brand system builds on a visual analogy of a key product truth, how Alipay+ brings together dozens of previously unconnected digital wallets globally. Allowing consumers to pay like a local, wherever they are in the world and merchants to open up their business to payments from any market.
